I saw one of these on YouTube the other day and it made me what to write my own list of 30 things I want to do, achieve, accomplish, before I turn 30. The time felt right as I have just finished my degree and can focus on working on bigger and smaller goals without having anything holding me back.
So, I turned 22 on March 29 of this year so from the publication of this post, I have exactly 7 years, 9 months and 15 days to complete my 30 before 30.
- Get married.
I don’t think this one needs much explaining and may be something most people want to do at some point in their lives.
- Have a child.
Again, I don’t think this one needs much explaining, I would like to have more than one child, but it would be great to have at least like one before I am 30.
- Own my own home.
Again, not much explanation needed, before I am 30, I wish to own my own home, wherever it may be.
- Adopt a rescue dog.
I have always grown up with dogs around the house, I can’t remember never having one, and when the time comes for me to have my own dog, I would love to to adopt one.
- Travel to 10 new places.
Travelling is something I love and I’m always desperate to visit new places all the time, so hopefully this one should be quite easy to do.
- Read one book a week for a year.
Reading is another thing I love to do and should be relatively easy to read one book a week.
- Love my body.
I have always been insecure with my body and my weight is always something I struggle with so to love my body for the first time is something important.
- To set up a spending tracker/be financially stable.
This is something I am currently working on and I something I can bet everyone wants. I have been careless with my money in the past so I have started a spending tracker to kick-start my goal to be financially stable.
- Travel to two or more countries in one trip.
This basically counts as travelling but travelling to two places in one trip is something I’ve always wanted to do.
- Eat a pescatarian diet for six months.
I originally had this goal set for a year but I thought six months was a bit more realistic. I love fish and I know it is so good for your body, so I was hoping this would get me into a healthy eating routine.
- Learn a new language.
This is something I put on my goals list for 2018, and is something I can at least start to work on this year, but by the time I am 30 I would love to be fluent in another language.
- Learn to play an instrument.
I learnt to play the drums when I was 16 and was actually quite good at it as I picked it up so quickly, but I never kept up with it so I can’t remember a thing, I have always wanted to play the piano so that is the ultimate instrument.
- Find a new hobby.
Finding a new hobby is something that I have wanted to do for ages now because I always so the same old things, I don’t know what yet, but I’m hoping that I’ll find something.
- Practice self-care more often.
There is so much that is considered to be self-care so I want to explore different forms of self-care to help benefit my mental and physical health.
- Go to a festival.
I have never been to a big music festival before, I’ve been to small local ones in my area but never to anything on a large scale, ultimately I’d love to go to Coachella!
- Live in a different country for at least a month.
This again probably falls into the travelling category and is something that I had planned to do next year but I don’t think it is going to happen as soon as I like so it is definitely something I want to do before I turn 30.
- Get back into horse riding.
Horse riding and just horses in general played such a huge part of my childhood. I started having riding lessons from about 5/6 years old but when I was around 15/16 I fell out of love with horse riding. I have a few friends who have horses and I’m just so desperate to get back into the saddle now.
- Live in a city for a year.
This will probably be a city in the UK, being from the countryside, I’ve always said I could never live in a city but I would love to try it, mostly London, but I love Edinburgh so would definitely live there for a year too.
- Get into a routine of exercising regularly.
As I’ve already said, my body and weight is something that I’ve always struggled with and getting into a regular workout routine would benefit me in so many ways.
- Start my own book club.
Early on in this post I expressed my love for reading so for me, starting my own book club would be so much fun.
- Write a book.
Again, sticking with the literature theme, writing a book is something I have always wanted to do, and being a published author is a huge dream of mine.
- Get another tattoo.
I got my first tattoo when I was 16 and I’ve been saying ever since that I want another but I never have. This time I want one that has more meaning to it too.
- Do something for charity.
When I say do something for charity, I want it to be big and raise a lot of money and this is another big one of mine to do before I turn 30.
- Watch a show on the West End and Broadway.
I love going to the theatre but I’ve never even seen a show on the West End, so I thought I might as well throw in Broadway if the West End is getting a mention.
- Experiment with my style.
When it comes to clothes, I have always played it safe but my style is something I want to experiment with. I’ve worked in fashion retail for 3 ½ years and worked with different brands trend packages and I’d just like to experiment with my own clothes.
- Visit a vineyard/go wine tasting.
I’m not a massive drinker but if I do drink, wine is one of my go-to’s, especially red wine. So wine tasting is something I would love to do.
- Host a dinner party.
This one seems like a pretty simple thing to do but when I think of a dinner party, I want to go all out and fancy with it.
- Visit libraries across the world.
I have seen pictures of some of the world’s most beautiful libraries and I would love to visit some of them and this can be done in collaboration with number 5.
- Go to a carnival.
This one is similar to number 15, I have been to small local carnivals but I want to go to one of the massive ones abroad because I think they look like so much fun.
- Afternoon tea at The Ritz.
If you have never been for afternoon tea I strongly advise you do because it is lovely. I love going out for afternoon tea with my friends and I have always wanted to go The Ritz.
